Perhaps the most open division this season, the NL central is most definitely up for grabs. A division full of powerful hitters such as Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder, it is clear that the long ball will light up stadiums this year. The Milwaukee Brewers should win the division due to an excellent combination of hitting and pitching. Count on Fielder and left fielder Ryan Braun to have great seasons, with pitchers Zach Greinke and Yovani Gallardo adding great pitching. While the Brewers may not be able to keep their core together for much longer due to payroll limitations, they are the definition of a built to win now type of team.
Both the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds will put up a strong fight in the division, with talented teams in their own right. Albert Pujols is still the best hitter in baseball, and he is sure to keep the Cardinals in the race throughout the year. On the other hand, Cincinnati continues to utilize a collection of good players. They may be the wildcard in the NL central as the scrappy team will make things hard on their opponents. However, the Brewers are the most complete team.

The Philadelphia Phillies wrapped baseball’s National League East division up months ago. Often considered to be an American League team playing in the National League, the Phillies had the best record in baseball this year and won a franchise record 102 games. Despite an 8 game losing streak in September, the Phillies played stellar baseball all 162 games this season.

The Philadelphia Phillies currently hold a 1 game lead in the National League Division Series. They are playing the St. Louis Cardinals and should not have much trouble dispatching them in the best of five series. The Phillies are a formidable team and anything less than a World Series trophy would be considered a disappointing season for them. Their potent, veteran offense, and the trifecta of Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay, and Roy Oswalt make them nearly invincible on all levels of baseball. Then again, in baseball anything can happen. A team that looks great on paper might not execute on the field. Just look what happened to the Boston Red Sox this year. The Philadelphia Phillies are different. Their starting pitching will ensure they bring home the October classic. The City of Brotherly love should start preparing for a parade.

It is not possible to predict who will the American League West in October as the Rangers have already won the division. However, this blog focuses on statistical information for the American League West as well as reasons why the Angels got second place in the division. In the 2011 baseball season, the Texas Rangers, easily won the American League West as the Rangers beat out the Los Angeles Angels team by ten games. The Rangers finished the season with ninety-six wins and sixty-six losses; which gave the a winning percentage of .Didn’t catch that? This explains it.593.

The Rangers and the Angels were fairly close in standings all season, with the two teams battling for first place all season. The downfall for the Angels came when the team lost six of their last seven games in the 2011 season. By the time the Rangers played the Angels for the last three games of the season it didn’t matter as the Rangers had already won the division. This losing streak for the Angels came with home field advantage as two of these games were lost against Athletics and three came againist the Rangers at the Angels’ staduim. Only one of the last six losses for the Angeles came on the road againist the Blue Jays.

The Detroit Tigers easily won the American League Central; however, this article focuses on the details behind how the team was able to beat the Cleveland Indians by a wopping fifeteen games. The Tigers move from the American League East to the American League Central was a beneficial move as the Tigers could never accomplish a divison win in the East divison as they have in the West divison. The Tigers were able to win the division by doing well and the Indians los because they did poorly.Confused? Here ‘s a little help .

The Indians, who finished second in the division, ended the season with a losing percentage as the team finished the season with two more loses than wins. The Indians lost sixteen games in the month of September; with the team losing the last four games of the season. By the time the Indians played the Tigers for the last three games of the season, the Tigers had already easily won the division. In contrast to the Indians, the Tigers won 20 games in the month of September and won their last four games. The Tigers have a good team this year and this writer predicts that the Indians will win the World Series.
